My company was established in 1975 with the objective of making fine examples of modern furniture to my own designs. I employed a small team of craftsmen & women and we made, to commission, furniture for the home and office, corporate clients, Local Authorities, Museums & Galleries, Churches, Government Offices and Colleges. Today I work on my own on more modest private commissions.
In 2015 I received from The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers their "Lifetime Achievement Award". By opening the five Gallery images you will be able to view a number of past commissioned pieces some of which could be repeated.

Services
I studied design and cabinet making at London's Central School of Arts & Crafts (now Central St. Martins) and then spent 5 years as an assistant to leading architects and designers. This experience has lead to a good understanding of buildings, and architects ideas about design. I started the workshop after 15 years practicing as a free-lance designer to the furniture industry. I set out to make proper pieces of furniture that exploit traditional forms of construction but are, never the less, expressions of today.
The development of most commissions falls into the following four stages. Clearly it is desirable to meet at the outset and, where possible, I like to see where the furniture is to be placed, the surroundings will have an influence on my design proposals. STAGE A - An initial meeting where we can look through my portfolio of past work to establish those designs you like best and that would form the basis for your commission. I would need to take dimensions or receive plans of the space, and note any special features or obstacles.
