Purchased bed frame and paid by bank transfer in full! No problem. Guaranteed 4 week delivery but nearly 9 weeks later, no sign of item or delivery date despite repeated promises. William was very civil and polite but this is of little help when seeking refund and cancellation. After personal visit and open phone call (owner hung up on me) in presence of other customers who walked out, refund was finally given in cash. Lovely looking products but don't be fooled - AVOID where possible unless you have unending patience and plenty money to spare!

Been trying to get 2 manhattan bedside unit for about 2 months. I have got the rest of my bedroom furniture from this company. I have no luck in getting these 2 units. I don't want to pay 50 delivery when I could pick them up at the shop in haddington place edinburgh. I have been phoning them for months now and the man william in the shop keeps telling me they can't get them.

I am so disappointed as I need them by the end of June. I spent about 1.000 in this shop. And recommended a friend that bough her bedroom furniture from them. If I don't get these soon I will go somewhere else to fit my other bedroom out. The furniture is good. But trying to add to it is near impossible

Do not use, pay more and go elsewhere, still waiting on an item since March, it's become very clear we are consistently being lied to about the status of our furniture, we just want a refund and have made formal complaints to trading standards. We've been told the sofa has been shipped, this was a lie, we have also been promised a refund, which is just another stalling tactic. Currently in a position where they have taken 500 of our money, we have no sofa, no refund and no idea if we will ever receive it.

I have been chasing an £80 refund for a piece of furniture that's hasn't been delivered for 5 months.
Costumer service is extremely poor and keep on finding excuses as to why furniture wasn't delivered and how "can't get in touch with boss to ask for refund". I was asked to email their costumer service account which was fake. Very disappointed.

Don't buy the staff's friendliness and salesmanship. When asking for an update for my uplift and refund request for faulty goods, the store manager William repeatedly told me over the phone, that his job is only to sell and not to deal with complaints arrange returns or issue refunds. Almost two months later, Home Max has not replied to our formal complaint asking for a refund, nor to our invite to engage in alternative dispute resolution.

This is the best design and furniture shop in town and of course we were in desperate need of something to replace habitat when it shut down. There's not a single thing in this shop you wouldn't want to buy. It ranges from large items to small gifts, so great for everything you need in your home, I'd suggest having a browse and spreading the word about this place, as more people need to know this gem exists on their doorstep. I will definitely recommend this place

Very friendly and waited for me as I was running a bit late! Chair is very comfy and more than worth the price! I will definitely be going back for more furniture! Thank you very much!

Avoid. Ordered a sofa bed in March, paid half, covid hit, obvious delay. Store Reopened in June, order was lost, had to be re-ordered, still not received mid September. No known delivery date, no call back from anyone over the whole period at all with any information, we have chased over 6 times, each time told nothing of substance re. a potential delivery date or status of the order. Now requesting a refund and no one is calling back to arrange and instead suggesting we request a refund from our credit card provider.

Avoid at all cost. HomeMax only cares taking money off of you. No aftersale support. Will not care if they send you damaged furniture or if they damage them while assembly. After they got your money, thats it. End of story. We ordered a sofa bed and a bed for 1600+. Both items arrived damaged and/or were damaged during assembly by the store's people (along with various damages to our property). Damages were acknowledge by the store manager after receiving an email with pictures but the director refuses to talk to us (other than trying to bully us into silence on the phone).

Not only they refuse return and refund, the company director prohibits the store manager to give us any meaningful updates and he explicitly told us if he was to issue a refund he would lose his job. Shocking, unethical, and borderline illegal practices. All this stress for a sofa and a bed. On the plus side, I am now very knowledgeable on the Consumer Rights act and relevant legislations. The store is known to the local trading standards for such practices.

I was absolutely delighted with my plasma tv unit! Iv shopped here for many items over the years, dinning table, beds, console table and nest of tables. Homemax is always the best price around for quality furniture. Delivery was prompt, I will continue to shop at Homemax

A store full of lovely stuff, and looks and feels like great quality. It was nice dealing with the people in this store. They have some great deals on and we look forward to our new furniture arriving. We will be back.

Quality of the furniture is great but customer service is terrible. If you get something faulty, count at least 3 months and many phone calls and stops at the shop to get a replacement. We bought a sideboard and received it with a door that wasn't even closing despite the stamp from Quality check.
