Built In bedroom furniture and fitted wardrobe specialists for Hertfordshire & Essex in the UK. All our fitted wardrobes are built floor-to-ceiling using an MDF lap-jointed front frame without the use of unsightly filler panels. Our fitted wardrobe construction method maximises storage space and is fitted to the exact shape of your room by one of our professional craftsmen.
Our wardrobe front frame construction method is ideal for angled ceilings, it enables us to build exactly to the shape of your room without losing any storage space. The interiors are designed to suit your requirements incorporating hanging space, shelving or drawers. The nature of the construction and the quality of materials allows us to achieve a very high standard of installation. The skill and experience of all those involved from design to manufacture to installation ensures attention to detail.
Bespoke Fitted Furniture has the advantage of making full use of the space available, it can be designed to accommodate specific storage requirements where a balance of function and aesthetics can be determined by the end user. Good bespoke design flexibility is only possible if the product is manufactured to specification, this opens up the designers ability to use their imagination and truly accommodate customer requirements and resolve difficult or complicated awkward spaces.Most suppliers of fitted furniture do not have the facility to manufacture to specification which limits their design ability to non bespoke.

We are really pleased with our new fitted wardrobes. Ed and Ray are both so friendly and did an excellent job. They turned up exactly at the time we had discussed and Ray worked hard to get the wardrobes fitted efficiently. A very professional job, with the room left clean and tidy afterwards. Would definitely recommend.

We have been very pleased with the service and the end result from Ed and Ray. We have had a shelving unit with cupboards put next to our fireplace and it looks like it has always been there. We had fitted wardrobes installed in 2 bedrooms and are delighted with the quality and finish of them. Ed is very professional and ensured there were no issues with the installation and that work was carried out within the time frame we were given. Ray who installed the wardrobes was very efficient and tidy. We would definitely recommend Furniture By Design.

Ed and the wardrobe fitter provided an excellent service with attention to detail, fitting two open frame wardrobes into a new build house. The two floor to ceiling wardrobes look very stylish and I could not be more pleased. Also, compared to well known companies who are on a permanent sale, Furniture by design was very competitively priced. Highly recommended!

Even with the difficulties posed by Covid, Ed provided excellent and responsive service in designing-built in bedroom wardrobes and chest of drawers for us. He patiently waited while our necessary prior works were unfortunately delayed and we were delighted to be able to finally take delivery at the start of this week. Ray did a superb job fitting the cupboards - he is a real craftsman with an eye for detail and perfection - and was so easy to have in the house. We are so pleased with the finished product.

Furniture By Design have installed a built-in section to a dividing wall in our lounge. From quotation and design discussion, through to fitting, we found the company very helpful and professional. They advised with tiny details to ensure that we achieved the very best outcome possible. Their years of experience proved invaluable. Nothing was too much trouble. The fitter did an amazing job and we are delighted with the finished result.

We have just had fitted wardrobes designed and built in our new home by Furniture By Design. We can not speak highly enough of the service we received, we were so impressed! Ed was brilliant. So helpful throughout the whole process, listening to what we were wanting, making very helpful suggestions to make the most of the space and his design was spot on! Ray, who fitted the wardrobe was superb.

I had my study fitted out by Furniture By Design and I couldn't be happier. Initially I was going to kit it out using Ikea furniture then I saw an advert for Furniture By Design. Looking at the picture gallery, I could see the quality of the workmanship and although the price isn't cheap, I feel the end result is more than worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to call Ed to do more work for me the future. A very happy customer.

We recently had our dressing room designed and fitted by Furniture by Design. We could not speak more highly of the service which we received. Ed was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and provided us with exactly what we wanted (even though we were not sure of this ourselves at the beginning of the process!) Ray, who fitted the furniture, was superb; he was unobtrusive and a very tidy worker. We certainly plan to use the company again.
